Under 19 Badminton Last Hurrah

This morning our Under 19 Badminton teams took to the court one last time.  In what has been five years of success and near misses, as well as being the only club that train consistently twice a week at 7.45am in the morning our 6th Years represented the school one last time. Our Under 19a Girls who two years were third best badminton team in Ireland once again reached the Leinster Final this year.  A massive well done to Riya, Rachel, Nabbie and Zoe for their effort over the years.  Our Under 19b Girls – Ellen, Cara, Dylan and Bea also managed one last win and left the sportshall with fond memories of representing the school proudly throughout the years.  Our Under 19c Girls – Bella, Rose, Hannah and Anna also managed to win one last time and proved that they were unlucky this year in their league matches.

Our Under 19a Boys who you may remember missed out on the All Ireland Championships this year by 1 point in the Leinster finals will also be missed will be fondly remembered for challenging Mr Steele in training (and sometimes winning), while the Under 19b team showed that they can hold their own on the court and play some great shots.

In total we are losing 19 badminton players this year, however the memories that have been created will be with them forever.

A huge thank you to all those players for their commitment, positive attitude and never ending willingness to improve and putting Mount Temple well and truely on the Dublin and Leinster map.
