Empowering girls to take part in sport is something that Mount Temple strives to allow girls to do and this is not different. In the week of International Womens Day on Sunday, our 1st Year Girls took to the rugby field for the first time this season. Led by Caitlyn, assisted by Olivia and Evie, Ming, Katie, Lily, Matilda, Rose, Emily May and Phoebe travelled to Seapoint RFC to take part in a Metro organised 1st Year touch rugby blitz. They came home not only with 3 wins and a 1 draw from their four matches, but also a little wet (OK a lot wet), enthusiasm, smiles and encouragement. With two of the squad also attending a Clontarf RFC session this week, we are hoping that we can continue to develop lilnks with the club further and get more girls playing rugby over the coming years.
