Senior Debate Club in the Concern Debates (by Ms. Gunning)
January 8, 2026
The Senior Debate Club has reached the knock-out stages of the Concern Debates. The knockout stages means they are in the top 64 out of 180 schools nationwide. They debated CUS most recently on the topic ‘Global commitments to ending world hunger are a load of hot air’. The team consisted of Rose Spencer (Captain), Benjamin Forrest, Art O’ Neill, Sadhbh McNally and Carme VanWyk (time keeper). Many other TYs, 5th and 6th years have been part of debating and researching topics this year and we are so proud of their success, teamwork and debating skills they have developed which has culminated in so much success in what is their first year debating.
